Jazz Playoffs!!!

Chris and I are having fun watching the NBA playoffs and especially with our favorite team (minus BYU) the Utah Jazz! When my family was in town we stayed right across the street from the Conference Center. We had a great time walking there and seeing the roof especially, going to the temple grounds and seeing a billion brides getting married, seeing the Joseph Smith movie, going to the Lion House and Geneology Center.
Such a fun time. While we were there, we decided to hunt for tickets and were about to get into Game 3!

Chris wearing the Jazz Jersey I got him for his birthday. Most perfect and best gift ever for him!!
Yes we were up there.. but the Jazz could still hear us

We found a cool car while waiting for the game

Precious! Us before we found a sweet deal for tickets 5 minutes before the game. The Jazz ended up winning and were 2 - 1 at that time. Good game Go Jazz!GO JAZZ

Graduation from BYU

Wow, it came so fast I can't believe I'm done with BYU. I graduated with the Interior Design emphasis and Business minor and am done studying and taking tests. I've loved BYU soooo much. It was the perfect school for me as I learned so many great skills to "go forth to serve". I've worked so hard.
Some of my greatest accomplishments here are:

  • Executive Director for Human Resources for BYUSA (student government)
  • National Bowling League... that's right I was Ehubbs
  • Worked and taught some classes two years as a Teacher's Assistant for my Interior Design professor
  • Was a part of Y Serve doing service
  • BYU Athletic Marketing- was able to help advertise for BYU sports and go on the court and football field every game. Had sweet front row tickets.
  • Swing Dance Club
  • Chosen to do research for a professor
  • Athletic Connections- played with Downs Syndrom kids every Saturday
  • Mechanical Engineering- External Relations Assistant it was the best job ever
  • Taking pictures with Cosmo and me- have over 80 individual ones haha
  • Worked in the Math Department
  • Designed t-shirts
  • Set the standard for advertising with Men's Tennis
  • Marriott School of Business Marketing Association member
  • Marketing competitions at BYU

Here I am walking to the Marriott Center for graduation Thursday! I don't have a lot of pictures because I was going to take pictures Friday which ended up being awful weather.
My Grandparents came into town so I took them on the tour of BYU and they took me to the Skyroom for lunch. They fell in love with campus too. Everything was blooming and looked amazing.

Chris came on Thursday and meet my family!!! On Friday he came with his parents to spend time and meet them. My college graduation was in the Wilk and afterward we went upstairs and had Skyroom again. Both graduations were short and sweet!
I'm the dot somewhere down there. Elder Christofferson spoke to Class of 2010.

Some of the trees that were in bloom it was so beautiful. I loved having everyone come and join me. It was a great time to see everyone's support and being with my family! Thanks so much!

Rosette Headbands

I'm cropped out because I look goofy, but here is the finished headband that only took like half hour. I made a pink/white one and the black one below

The fabric that works best is a double-sided fabric that is more thick. I chose this paisley one below and it was white on one side and pink on the other which gave the rosette more dimension.
To start you cut about a half-inch to an inch and however long you would like (usually at least a foot to three feet). You can iron it in half or I just continuously folded it.

To start you just fold the fabric at one of the ends and keep on wrapping it around, sewing it with a needle and thread to hold it in place.

I kept twisting the fabric and positioning it before I placed the needle in. I kept the edges untrimmed so it became like this. I made two roses for this headband. This was a bigger one then I made a smaller one. When I finished I just cut off an extra inch or two and sewed it flat on the back of the rose.

Here are the two roses with the headband I glued them too.
Here's the black one I also put together

All done. I placed three together for this one

My Birthday Dreams - aka National Holiday

Chris gave me the best birthday ever! I slept in and we went out for breakfast then we watched one of my favorite musicals.

I picked Wingers to go for dinner and my sister and her friends came to visit and a few of our other friends came to celebrate! For my birthday Chris surprised me with a Cricut!!! Pretty good choice I have loved doing things with it I was really surprised thanks Chris! I look like such a Goober, this is right after I opened it
After dinner we went to Chris' house where his family wanted to wish me a Happy Bday. He surprised me with a Magleby cake which are INCREDIBLE and baby Brynlie and Coleman helped me blow out all the candles which I can successfully do still... even with 22

Cute picture of Chris and Baby LucieMy roommates were so nice and decorated some of the apartment
You can tell a little bit but there was balloons and streamers all over

Thanks for the awesome birthday. Thanks especially Chris for thinking of me and planning a day all for me :)

Blog Make-Over

So, I graduate in a month from today which is so crazy. I can't believe its coming to an end after 4 years. I have had the best time of my life here at BYU and I'm so sad to be leaving it behind, but of course its time and I need to graduate.
BYU has given me so many great experiences and now its time to "go forth to serve" as our motto states. I'm not fully sure whats next in store, but I know that with trusting in the Lord and doing everything I can everything will be ok.
