One Year has Flown By so Fast

Our Anniversary!!!

We had such a great time. We saw Rascal Flatts the night before and the next day to start off our Anniversary we ate some of the cake from our wedding that we kept frozen these last 12 months. I was shocked, it wasn't that bad.
The doorbell rang and a floral place brought me flowers from Chris, such a sweetie.

We got married in the Salt Lake Temple so we went back on our Anniversary. I love him so much, I love our goals and how we bring out the best in eachother.

We stayed in SL and then went to Park City. It was such a great time, here is the Freestyle ski jump used in the Olympics. Skiers go off of these into a huge pool at the bottom.

Here is the Bobsled course. We could go on them but we missed it! Oh well, next time.

We still don't know if I was allowed to take a picture in the US Bobsled, but I did. It was fun.

On a trolley, Chris had never been on one before. Even though Park City wasn't that far away, it felt like we traveled somewhere because we were away.

Hahah I'm glad we can have fun with eachother no matter where we go.

And a ride on the Alpine Slide. It was more fun than I remember. We raced and once we got started downhill all of these LARGE crickets started jumping and would hit us in the face, mouth, clothes. It was gross. They were large and they were on the slide so they got crushed under us. Nasty but way fun at the end, we were laughing the whole time.
New Tradition we started:

We recapped our wedding day and everything we have done this last year. So many good times.

We each brought with us five items that remind us of happy times with eachother. We went over the first letter that I had written to Chris when we were dating, our wedding guest book, shells and maps from our honeymoon, "Chris' Survival Book Without Elise" book I made him one year when I went back to MI. So many great times. We defintely are doing this every year to remember the good times and how much we love eachother.

Rascal Flatts Concert

Here we are at the Rascal Flatt's concert. I LOVED it! We had so much fun going. Here we are nice and dry.

Still dry but seeing the storm go by us, thinking we were safe and it wouldn't hit us.

Wrong, it POURED. And when I say pour I mean it came down so hard that we were completely soaked to the bone. The blankets we were going to sit on became our umbrellas and all of the grass was wet, everything we brought was wet. It was terrible, and the concert hadn't started yet and we couldn't leave the venue and come back in.

Here we are hours later mostly dry. Thank goodness I brought 3 jackets in 80 degree weather. You never know what will happen :)

I've loved Rascal Flatts for so long. I remember the first time I heard 'Bless the Broken Road' in High School I knew it was going to be my wedding song and it was and we danced to it at the wedding and that night at the concert.

Free baby carrier and nursing cover

Apparently there is a code: VP9 for a free baby nursing cover from http://www.uddercovers.com/. Eventually when I have a baby I so want some of these! They are so cute. Since they were free and you only had to pay shipping I actually went to the website and considered getting one for the future and I thought that was so ridiculous since I'm not even expecting a baby SOOOO... I wanted to share this website with you.

I'm not sold on baby slings yet but this was a deal from http://www.sevenslings.com/ for a baby carrier for free when using the promo code: VP9 as well. Alas, I do not have a child but go and get them while supplies last.

H&M Skirt Inspiration

This is the finished skirt I made from a cute H&M pattern my mom helped me sketch.

Here is the brown skirt that I bought, We used tracing paper and measured out the pattern because the skirt I bought fit perfectly.

This blue and green floral fabric was already at my parents house so after we had a basic pattern, I cute a front and the back of the skirt and sewed those together with a thick waistband on the top. Super easy and cute!!!!

Sunday thoughts: Examples of kindness

Today was Fast Sunday and I was able to reflect on all of the kindness that people have showed to Chris and I recently.

This weekend or car wouldn't start and Chris was out there under the hood of the car trying to figure out the problem. I swear every single person who went into the store we were in front of stopped to offer assistance. That was so kind of them to take time to offer to help out of their busy schedules.

A boy from primary bore his testimony at church and it was so sweet. I bore mine as well today.

A couple who is new to the ward made us feel so welcome to the ward the last few weeks. They are new too but they wanted to be there, help us etc any way they can.

A guy who lives by us was working on his car and always waves to us. He said if we ever needed any help with a car issue he will help us. He doesn't even know our names but was so willing to help if we ever need it.

Our wonderful family helped us move recently, that was a huge help where they sweated in the intense heat, lifted our awfully heavy desk, and didn't complain.

When getting food this weekend, Chris have some money to the charity that the restaurant was sponsoring. Such a great example to me on helping others.

I'm so grateful for so many good examples of people serving us. There are so many great people out there and I need to get out there and look for ways to serve as well. There are so many people around us that could use a helping hand or smile.

We are getting everything together. All of the boxes are almost unpacked and we have everything on the walls! More posts to come.
