FUN Hair things

Here's the fabrics I used for my hair piece. I shiny gold fabric and a lacy pink one


I cut both in a circle (the pink one was smaller) and I had pinched it then hot glued it like that so it wouldn't be as flat


Voila! I cut a really small piece of the same gold fabric and bunched it up and just glued it together then glued it on the hairpiece. I also had a clip which I stuck on the back with some felt so it wouldn't tug my hair



Here is the pink/white paisley fabric I used. It was fun to use because it was two-sided and I just used a reverse side on each layer


Here's the fabric laid out. This time I cut mine out in a flower shape by hand. I put the same lacy stuff inside to give it more texture and depth.


Here's a side view of the fabrics put together. I then put a big pink jewel in the middle with a small circle of both the paisley and pink lacy to give it more depth.


I only used this one way cool fabric. I found different parts of it I liked then cut them in two or three flower shapes.


Drop of hot glue in the middle to put it in place. This one is going to be flatter so I didn't pinch the middle. It looks boring but it has a ton of color and a little shiny.


Here's it in my hair


My cute leopard and black one. I don't know what kind of material, but I cut these into circles/ ovals and instead of laying them exactly in the middle, I put the middle two on the side to give it a cool look.

Cheap and easy way to hang the temple in your home

I made this 3x2.5 feet picture of the temple thats hung on my wall.


How I made it:

FRAME: bought a cheap picture frame (look at places like Michaels, Walmart, JoAnns) for frames on sale or this one was slightly damaged (with one knick) which made the $60 frame into $15.

MATTING: Matting can be so expensive. For this I spent about $4 on thick black stiff paper that I cut and glued to go around the inside of the frame. Make sure that the length of the paper is at least the same length or longer than the frame to make everything look good together. I used a deep red to paint the matting and then with a stiff brush I dabbed on gold paint all over which gives it more effect but still showed the red as the main color.

PICTURE: The Distribution Center is great to find cheap pictures of the Savior, temples, prophet etc. This picture is a good size and I found this for like $1.

BACKGROUND: Since the picture frame doesn't have a background, I found a tan piece of construction paper that was nice and still stiff so it wouldn't sag, but still be able to hold the picture.

WORDING: I have not mastered calligraphy.. but I do know what fonts I liked. For the saying on top, I found the font and size I liked from Word and printed it out. I placed the words on top and with a pencil I pressed through to see the writing on the tan construction paper. I then got a small tipped brush and traced it with black paint.

Illusion of Mirrors

A great way to add accessories and make your room look bigger and even brighter is to use mirrors. They can create an "illusion" to having your room appear larger and can be placed in any room at any size. A black border can help the mirror contrast and the silver gives more elegance in this case and shine. These are two that my apartment has in the front room.

Great gift idea for a more usable Cookbook

So in the past I've gotten a cookbook or two and it usually has not been opened that much because I'm either unfamiliar with the recipe or think it will take too long so might as well just cook something I know how to make.

One of the things I got this year for Christmas from my fam was a blank cookbook to fill it with the recipes I want. The cookbook is blank but has tabs and sections for you to write down all the great recipes you want with it still being organized and not fall apart. Great present idea in my opinion!


Since I was home its forced me to get those awesome recipes my mom has cooked for me growing up and put them into the book so I can make those out here!

Hand-drawn floorplans I made for my Interior Design research

I'm wrapping up some research I'm doing this last semester for my Interior Design professor. BEDROOM 1


I've made a bunch of floorplans through CAD programs and drawing and have done a few sketches really quick. Usually they would take a lot longer but I made some basic ones and my professor wasn't here to revise it with her so hopefully I didn't leave anything out! KITCHEN
