Custom Baby Name Alphabet

I have seen custom baby name alphabets EVERYWHERE and they are so cute to say the least. They are perfect especially as a baby shower gift so this framed artwork can hang, or be on a shelf in a baby nursery. These first two signs are from Etsy HuntersPlace and are two completely different designs. The first has a white background with rainbow lettering (baby name in the middle) and the last one is more colorful with more of a jumbled alphabet with the baby name on the bottom.
I like this monochromatic alphabet with Leon's name in the spot where the L would go. From: http://www.snedesign.com
These baby name alphabet graphics are from AlleyKids at Etsy. I love the white border around this first graphic and the name right in the middle. There are so many possibilities from placement of letters and name, the colors, font, etc. The second graphic is like what you would see in a school with the upper and lower case letters and is bright and colorful.

These next two graphics are from Etsy DoodleGraphics. I love the colors with this first baby boy's alphabet and look how they cleverly placed Williams name on a angle and at the bottom.

Here is a basic font and alphabet. I like the format though, and the name really stands out at the bottom.

Here is an alphabet in a circle which would be cute to frame or be on a plate to hang up in the baby nursery. From: http://www.myretrobaby.com

Choosing a Colorful Crib

Today you can choose from tons of crib colors and don't need to stick with just white, black, or a brown wood color. If you want to find something more unique and playful, look at some colorful options to see if it is something you should purchase.
Here is an adorable pink crib. It looks good with a taupe colored wall, a pink wall would be way too much pink for me. It's interested how the sides of the cribs have the same fabric as the bed sheets. From: http://littlecrowninteriors.com
Here is a fun green crib. This designer loves colors as you can tell from the bright red letters over the crib and rug, and blue curtains. You can be as bright and fun as you want in a baby nursery and using fun colors is one way for the room to stand out. From: http://www.dreamonfuton.com/
I like this yellow crib. Yellow is a 'happy' color and definitely brings some sunshine in this room. This yellow is not too bright or overpowering. It looks like the other furniture and accessories are yellow as well. From: http://www.cafemom.com
Here is another yellow crib in a different setting. The color is more bright and against a darker wall it really stands out. The art pieces are also bright an make a statement in this nursery. From: luvinthemommyhood.com
These cute cribs are from http://www.earlymama.com. They have a structural design and the crib bars come in different colors as you can see below.
Here is a bright red crib which really stands out. I would probably choose a different wall color and some more accessories, but this is another option to design a unique nursery. From: http://joyouslittlewife.blogspot.com
Even though this color is not too colorful, I still wouldn't consider it one of the traditional crib colors (black, white, and wood brown). You can choose different shades of browns or grays to make the crib different but stay more safe with the color. From: http://www.literaturesoft.com
Here are some cute teal/turquoise cribs. Turquoise is a popular color now and this would be a cute option for our cute baby. You can actually use this crib for a boy or girl crib, add navy blue or green for a boy and some cute pink sheets and accessories for a girl's room. From: http://www.undulcehogar.com

Here is a blue crib which looks a lot like the crib above. This room has yellow splashed all around and keeps the white walls so the crib's colors stands out. From: http://pinterest.com/pin/278660295663646696/

Corinne's Elegant Baby Girl Nursery

This is the brand new baby nursery that my friend Corinne designed for her baby girl. She has such great taste and designed this baby nursery which not only turned out so cute and elegant, but she broke down the cost of the whole room for us to see.
Here is her elegant baby girl nursery. This room is so great because she has a lot of traditional main pieces in this room (crib, bedding, rug) that can be easily transformed into a baby boy room when (and if) the time comes. Just change some of the accessories and curtains and it is an elegant baby boy nursery just like that.

I love how she got thick pink curtains that will block out the sun and then some light sheer curtains that she can always cover the window if she wants to let some light in. I see nurseries all the time where they have light see-through curtains blocking the window and I'm like yeah right, they must not have a baby who is sleeping in their yet because way too much light comes in during the day not letting the baby sleep. My favorite pillow is the pink fluffy one, when the baby is in the crib, these pillows would look great on their glider/rocking chair or anywhere becuase these are such cute pieces.
This is my favorite rug from Pottery Barn Kids. Love it! It has pattern and adds texture to the room but it is neutral and can go in a all kinds of bedrooms and nurseries.
So here is the final breakdown of the cost for this amazing nursery:

Crib: Baby Mod Crib, Gift $199 via Walmart.
Crib Mattress: Serta Perfect Start, Gift $49 via Walmart
Polka Dot Sheet: Snickerdoodle, $13 on sale via Kohls
Geometric Sheet: Gift $19 via Pottery Barn Kids
Crib Skirt: Gift $59, via Pottery Barn Kids
Geometric Rug: Gift $129, via Pottery Barn Kids
Pearl Pillow: $20 TJ Maxx
Ruffle Pillow: Gift $25 Home Goods
Velvet Floral Pillow: $25 Target
Crib Blanket: Gift Curtain Sheers: $6, Target
Taupe Curtains: $18 Walmart
Curtain Rod: $9 Walmart
TOTAL COST: $544

Ikea Ung Drill Frames

Today I bought a Ikea Ung Drill frame and I can't tell you how excited I am to paint it and put it somewhere cute. See how you can use these frames for your little boy or girl.
First, you can use it for a party. This is for a little girl's princess birthday party and this is so perfect. I will definitely replicate this party idea. From: http://blog.amyatlas.com

Here is the Ung Drill frame as a magnetic board you can put in a little girl room or nursery. The white frame is great because there are so many possibilities. You can put basically any kind of background behind it. From: Etsy

You can use this Ikea frame for all kinds of pictures. Look how cute this turquoise Ung Drill is with this sweet baby girl in the frame. From: From: http://copycat-crafter.blogspot.com/

Here is the frame in purple, it is used as a mirror in this baby nursery. Placing a mirror in the frame can create an illusion of more space and can be placed in a bathroom, over a bed, in an entrance etc. From: From: http://www.brittanymakes.com
You can use more bold colors on the frame and can use this piece as a chalkboard (by using chalkboard paint). From: http://mediocremothering.blogspot.com
Here are some examples of putting initials in these Ung Drill Frames. Love how this pink frame has a patterned green fabric in the back and a white letter on top of it. It looks like this is placed above a bed. From: http://lillycakes.blogspot.com
Here is an adorable birthday party where they used this Ikea frame. I usually don't put these two colors together but it turned out so good. The best is that you can use this as a party decoration and then hang it up somewhere in your house. From: http://buckets-of-grace.blogspot.com
Here is another initial in the frame. This frame matches the furniture in this baby nursery. Are you coming up with ideas how to incorporate this frame in your house? From: http://room2think.wordpress.com
Here is a more unconventional way to use the frame. They placed this white frame around the table cards which really does make the table look beautiful and have a vintage feel. Maybe you could put it like this at a baby shower around a cake or party favors. From: http://castlesandcarriages.blogspot.com

So elegant, here is a baby shower for Peyton. The frame looks great against a plain background at the center of this table. From: http://blog.hwtm.com/

Here is the frame in original black color. You can also use this as a pin board by placing fabric and/or batting. From: http://www.timelesspaper.com/blog/?p=1412

Here is the frame used to frame a piece of art. Wow, can you see how many different ways this frame can be used.

In this picture, you can see how the frames are used on either side of this entrance. Maybe you could have this at a wedding, bridal shower, etc. From: Google images
Lastly I wanted to sneak this picture in to show another amazing room that used the Ung Drill frames. These three frames are set equally a part on the wall and are definitely the focal point of this room. From: http://ohsoglam.blogg.se/2010/november/
Phew!!! Hope you got some great ideas to use this amazing Ikea Ung Drill Frames. I am so excited to paint mine this week and am excited to use it for holidays, baby rooms, parties you name it! The possibilities and colors are endless.

Baby (rain) Shower

My friend just put on this adorable baby shower for baby Hudson.  She did such a great job on this "Baby (rain) Shower" from the decorations food and more!  She found some amazing ideas from Pinterest (what we would do without Pinterst these days) at lisastorms.typepad.com and put this shower together.

What cute tissue poms for the main food table.  The raindrops coming down in the different colors are so cute!
This baby boy diaper cake is too cute for words. I love the clouds with raindrops coming off and the splashes of water coming from off the diaper cake.

Here is a close up of the cute water drops.  I love how they look like they are splashing.

You can use fishing wire to tape your paper raindrops on the clouds to make the clouds look like it is raining. Here is the cute baby shower decor used for this Baby (rain) Shower.  I like how this can cover large walls or spaces if you want to carry this theme throughout the room.

Here is the whole table when stepping back.  Isn't this adorable! The clouds hanging from the ceiling (with the cute raindrops are my favorite).

Doesn't this food look amazing! From cookies to decorate with fresh fruits, cupcakes with cloud toppers, cakepops, and customized waterbottles (with the baby's name) this looks like so much fun!

Look at this cute advice book at the shower.  It's a cute notebook for people to write advice to this mommy-to-be and even the pencil looks like an umbrella to go with the theme.
For the baby shower favors, they put together bags of candy saying "Thanks for Dropping by" such a clever idea.  Thanks so much for sharing Emily! Check out her blog with more cute ideas from this shower and projects at http://tylerandemily.blogspot.com/2012/08/baby-rain-shower.html!
