I felt touched as I saw this as someones facebook status. He was one of the byu sports players and definetly the kindest one I met over the years. Just as I remember his kindness in the few times I met him, I hope others remember for me for the best as well.
I believe as we act the way we want to be treated and are leaders as we live our lives, we can be those solid examples for ppl to look up to and feel inspired so they can live their lives that way as well. Habits can be formed as we set goals of how we want to improve ourselves.
Remember who you are and reflect how you want to be treated and how you want to be remembered.

Second Valentine's Day Together
It is so hard being sneaky while living with the person you are trying to surprise. The night before Valentines I sneakily went to our car and decorated it with hearts on the inside of the windows. He was surprised to see it the day but since the windows were so cold that they fell off. Oh well. On Valentine's morning I had everything ready to lay out, Chris left and I spread these large Smarties (he loves this candy) all over our room with reasons why I love him on it. I also made that sign I blogged about already and put it up and decorated the rest of the room as well.
This is the cute watch he picked out for me :) I love it, it's so cute!!! I think he did a great job in picking it out all by himself. He was so sneaky and said he needed the car manual under the seat... and there was a heart shaped box for me with the watch!!! Also roses too which I love :)During lunch I txt Chris to go to his car and he found a pair of shoes that he's wanted too as well.
My parents sent us Valentine's Day treats as well. This is a turtle with chocolate, carmel, and pecans. I love it! This went quick.
I thought this was so cute as well, Amanda from work made these cute butterflies and had rolos in them.

Girls outing to the bridal fair
Oh we are goofy. About a month or two ago we decided to go to the bridal fair to go w our engaged friend and for all of us to have fun out of work.
Ha we had so much fun, of course I'm not engaged anymore but it was fun to hang out w the girls at work. Our favorite was the photobooths that we took pics in. ha in the other pics we had costumes. All I remember is that I wore a boa, vicking helmet, with a microphone.

Parenting: "I can't because I feel bad"
So, I was in the store today and this mom was getting fabric at the counter and speaking to lady about her 2 year old kid. She caught my attention because I was looking at fabric and her daughter SCREAMED at the top of her lungs and the mom asked the lady "what can I do to make my kid listen." The mom said that she has tried everything and even would squirt water in her daughter's face but she would just laugh.
The fabric worker lady told her she needs to tell her daughter what she is doing wrong and do something like Time Out of something of that sort but the key is to be CONSISTENT because that will help the daughter to stop screaming and everything. My favorite is that the mother said she didn't want to do that because she "felt bad" and didn't want to hurt her daughter's feelings.
I told this story to Chris when I got back and said I hope we are able to discipline and teach our future kids. Discipline is different for every family but I hope that we don't feel bad to tell our kids 'no' at times when we need to correct behavior. When kids do learn to get their way, especially at 2, they can turn really bratty which I hope we don't allow our kids to be.

Valentines Day "I Love You" sign
For Valentines I worked on this cute sign for Chris. Like two years ago I bought this cardboard sign and I wanted to put it to use for my love. The cool part is that it has two sides, so I one I wrote "I LOVE" and the other side said "YOU"
So it wouldn't have a cardboard look to it, I decided to paint it white to make it look better.
I used my Cricut to cut out the letters from Vinyl. It was hard because I didn't know what to make this in, but I had this leftover paper from the cards I made and I just started coming up with ideas of how to make it look good. This is the view from above to show that there are six circles connected.
Here is the front of it. The paper is pink and brown and Valentine's as well.
This is the back, I put some of our wedding pictures in between the letters. I think it turned out so cute, It's great because it collapses so I can easily store it for next year.

Valentines Day Cute Cards
I love watching all of the Valentines Day shows on tv and seeing all of the pinks and reds in the stores. I'm so glad this is a day to remember loved ones and writing notes can be a great and meaningful way to say I love you. My Grandparents love to hear from me and receiving notes, they'll put them on the fridge :) I love to get notes and to be thought of and others do too.

What's a Skookie???
Look how yummy this looks. I know these as Pizookies from the California restaurant that has these, they are a large cookie that you put a big clump of ice cream in the middle.
Cam and Alexa introduced us to these awesome pans. For christmas we got the pans from Natalie and Jeff! You can make whatever cookie recipe and put the dough in the middle.
Look how cute these pans are. It makes these yummy cookies that you can make your own and eat it with ice cream.

Baby skirts in less than 30 mins
Look how cute this baby skirt is! I went to our stake super saturday and one of the activities I did was making easy baby skirts.
We chose our fabric they brought and looking at these measurements determined the width of the skirt. I know it doesn't have the length for the skirts, that's because you can make it however long or short you want.
K, so you cut two pieces of fabric with the length you can determine from the picture . You place the inside out and pin the shorter sides which is the length and sew down those sides.
On the waist. You folks over the fabric not once, but twice so it can have a better finish. I pinned it down as you can see from the picture. I sewed around the bottom of the folded edge (so I sewed that bottom edge where I pinned) and left a half inch because that's where you will be putting your elastic through.
In this picture you can see that the skirt is still inside out and you can see the bottom part where
I sewed. I used elastic and made it the SAME width as the skirt. So if your skirt was 16 inches wide... You make the elastic 16 inches. I placed the elastic on a safety pin and thread it through the band of the skirt we created. At the end I sewed the two stands together many many times so it would not become loose or come apart.
Next I folded up the bottom of the skirt like 1/4- 1/2 inch and ironed it for a crisp finish. I then just went and sewed it from the inside.
Lastly, I decorated it with this cute ribbon I have. These skirts are so easy you can add so many cute details:
Ruffles, ribbon, flowers, matching headbands or shoes, etc. I used the ribbon and you can see it pinned down and ready to be sewn!
